On Wednesday the 22nd day of May 2024, the scheduled football match between the Claretian University staff team and the 200-level student being the finals of this edition of the competition was played.

Both teams haven qualified after winning their initial fixtures played a very exciting game with the first half ending in a barren draw.

The staff team showing superior fire power missed a few chances at scoring in the first half but on resuming the second half and playing from a spot kick, the staff team netted their first goal which was welcomed with a thunderous celebration.

In about the 28th minute, the second goal was scored and that sealed the faith of the teenage 200-level students.

in his comments, while handing over the trophy to the winners, Rev. Fr. Paulycap Ugwu encouraged the young lads to keep hopes alive and work harder for the next edition. Rev Fr. Poly in his usual big heart added the sum of twenty thousand naira to the winners and also to the young lads as he encouraged the SUG president and his excos who organised the tournament to improve more in the next edition
