Claretian University of Nigeria has announced the promotion of three distinguished academics to the rank of Professor. This landmark achievement reflects the institution’s growing reputation for excellence in teaching, research, and community service. The newly appointed professors are: 1. Rev. Fr. Prof. John Ezenwankwor A distinguished scholar in the Philosophy of Law and Jurisprudence, Prof. Ezenwankwor brings over two decades of teaching and research experience. He has taught at Imo State Polytechnic, the Federal University of Technology Owerri, and Claretian University of Nigeria. Widely published in both national and international journals, his works have shaped intellectual debates on legal paternalism, the offence principle, and related themes. He has also successfully supervised numerous postgraduate theses, contributing significantly to the growth of legal scholarship. 2. Rev. Fr. Prof. Polycap Ugwu Specializing in Ethical Philosophy, Prof. Ugwu’s research interests focus on ethical issues surrounding immigration policies worldwide. Appointed an Associate Professor in 2021, he has since held key academic leadership positions, including Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Head of the Department of Philosophy at CUN. Renowned for his mentorship, Prof. Ugwu has guided both undergraduate and postgraduate students through impactful thesis projects. His scholarship is widely recognized, with publications in several respected national and international journals. 3. Rev. Fr. Prof. Bernard Ukwuegbu An authority in Biblical Theology, Prof. Ukwuegbu has served for many years as a lecturer in the Department of General Studies. His research and numerous publications reflect a unique integration of Philosophy of Religion and Biblical Theology, influencing contemporary theological and philosophical discourse. Elevated to Associate Professor in 2021, his works continue to feature prominently in reputable national and international journals. In his congratulatory message, the Vice-Chancellor of Claretian University, Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Wenceslaus Madu, described the appointments as a proud moment in the university’s history.
