Professor Augustine Ikeji, appointed Chairman of the Advisory Board on Innovation and Technology at CUN

A renowned Professor of Computer Science at one of America’s leading Universities has been appointed to lead Technology and Innovation at the Claretian University of Nigeria (CUN).

Augustine Ikeji is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Eastern Michigan University (EMU). His association with EMU started back in 1981 as a student. After the completion of his bachelors and masters degrees in 1985, he was hired as a part time lecturer in the Computer Science Department. In 1988, he became a full time Instructor. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Wayne State University. His areas of specialization and research interests include adaptive stratified sampling techniques for query optimization, and system monitors and filters, as well as e-Commerce and web databases.

Since joining EMU, he has taught a variety of graduate and undergraduate level courses in Computer Science. He has introduced new courses in the area of web programming and e-commerce, and contributed to the development of new graduate and undergraduate programs. Dr. Ikeji has designed and implemented several software systems that are widely used within and outside the university. One such system is the EMU online nomination system for the undergraduate symposium. He has also served as the Undergraduate Advisor and Graduate Coordinator for several years in the Computer Science Department. Before joining EMU, he worked for a company in Ann Arbor, Michigan and was part of a team that developed wind tunnel simulation software for NASA, Boeing, Aerospatiale, and other aircraft building companies.
