Claretian University of Nigeria Approved

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) of Nigeria, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday 3 February, 2021, approved the establishment of 20 private universities in the country, including the Claretian University of Nigeria.

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, who briefed newsmen after the session, said the approved universities will get their provisional licenses from the National Universities Commission (NUC), which they will use for the next three years while monitoring and evaluation will go on.

The Claretian University of Nigeria is a giant step in the education apostolate of the East Province of Nigeria. It is also a step in the vision of our founder, St. Anthony Claret, who believes that good education is a great way to bring people to better living. The Claretians of the East Province of Nigeria has been known to contribute greatly to the church and society through training of personnel in education and establishment of schools. The news of the approval of the university, is a heartwarming reward for the efforts made by the members of the organism and their associates. Yet, the work is just beginning. We hope for greater progress for the organism and the university, and indeed for the entire Claretian family.
