Tue 01,Jul 2025

The activities marking the 2024/2025 academic session at Claretian University of Nigeria, came to an end on Sunday, the 29th of June, 2025, with a thanksgiving Holy Mass celebrated by the former Chaplain of Imo State University Catholic Chaplaincy and Pro-Chancellor of Imo State University, Very Rev. Fr. Professor Phillip Ogbonna, CMF, in company of the Vice Chancellor of CUN and other Principal Officers of the University.

In his Homily, the Registrar of CUN, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. John Ezenwankwor, extolled the virtues of Saints Peter and Paul whose feast-day coincided with the Eucharistic celebration. He advised the faithful to emulate these great Saints of the church, while praying for the success of the maiden graduants of the Institution as they prepare to leave the University.

In his address, the Vice Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr. Professor Wenceslaus Madu, advised the maiden graduants of CUN to be good Ambassadors of the Institution wherever they may find themselves in the future. The Academic Don thanked them and their parents and guardians for choosing CUN. The VC equally thanked the Chief celebrant and Pro-chancellor of IMSU for coming to celebrate the Mass.

On his part, the IMSU Pro-chancellor pledged full collaboration of IMSU with CUN, especially, in the areas of Chaplaincy administration and activities, amongst others. He advised the pioneer graduating students to internalize those values they learned while in the University for their own good and the good of their families and the society at large.

The highpoints of the occasion were the inauguration of the various Committees for CUN's maiden Convocation slated for November 2025, as well the inauguration of the newly elected SUG executive by the Vice Chancellor.

Shortly after the Mass, the graduants and their guests were entertained by the students of the University
